Summary
The car is above average mechanically, runs and drives well and the overdrive was definitely worth the money and effort.  The $20/hr stuff I did myself but anything beyond that was completed by a competent repair facility.  All gauges work with the exception of the fuel gauge, which drops out at half a tank leading me to believe that it is a sender issue. The fuel tank needs to be replaced before any distance driving, the corrosion is letting loose causing the filters to plug regularly.  I had the body inspected by my Paint Supervisor who restores classic cars before purchase, he deemed the corrosion “period correct”, very sound and restorable. It looks good from ten feet but the flaws show up as you move closer.  There is some bubbling of the paint around the repair areas listed above, this is due to the use of the wrong type of flux when the repair panels were leaded in. Aesthetically it still might be a bit rough but the big money has been spent mechanically it just needs someone to take it the final step.

A few pictures:

My response to a couple of email inquiries:

“The car is currently stored at the Fox Cities British Car Club Oshkosh, WI.  I have very few and not very good pictures of the car.  I will try to get there in the next couple of weeks for additional pictures”

“I purchased the car in July of 2006 as non-runner from the 2nd owner with the intentions of fully restoring the car as a hobby.  The 2nd owner purchased the car in 1975 drove it for about seven years during which time he had some body work and a fresh coat of paint completed by a gentleman in the Stevens Point area.  It was then stored unregistered in an outbuilding at the owner’s residence from 1982 until I purchased it.  He never sighted a reason for not keeping it running but in conversations with the neighbors when I picked it up he loved the car and would push it out weekly in the summer to wash and wax.  Unfortunately, the economy has turned for the worse and with that, my free time has evaporated leaving little time for a hobby or even pleasure driving so I have decided to sell.”
